Inspired by...

Diana Lynn Thompson. She cast 4000 blue, pale blue, clear, aqua and teal green coloured marbles onto a south-facing beach on Saltspring Island and observed their movement with the tide over several days in a time based outdoor art installation. Would have loved to have seen it in person.

Wearable art...

Definitely a style of his own...

And it's certainly not traditional, the work of Brendan Monroe
intrigues me.

Natural Casual Thanksgiving Table

I just wanted to repost this image from BHG for all those looking for inventive Thanksgiving tabletop decor for the more casual home. I just love the yarn in the glass cylinders, and the wood slices with candles atop are an easy DIY as well.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

I've been dying to get an invitation to use Spoonflower, the wonderful place that lets you design and they print YOUR FABRIC. It's the awesomest idea ever. In the meantime, I've been envying Jessica Gonacha's creations. Fabulous.

Beautiful Scarf 50% Off!

Now just $20.00 from forqueenvictoria.

Inspiration for Today

Design Sponge is doing a series of webisodes entitled Design by the Book in tandem with the New York Library featuring five awesome artists faced with the challenge of creating something inspired by the Library's abundant collection resources. It will be fun to watch this project unfurl. I also think it would be incredibly interesting to give each artist the option of randomly choosing 5 books from a specific section of the library and seeing what they come up with as well. The possibilities are endless. We may be watching the budding days of the next new reality design show. I'd most certainly watch.

Another Cheap and Somewhat Easy

DIY Thanksgiving placecards. All you need is a $1.99 pack of Fancy Feathers Grey Duck Wing Quills (they come 22 to a pack and can be found at your local craft store), some acrylic craft paint (I used grey, of course :) and a fine tipped paintbrush. All it takes is a steady hand and wa la. Fairly easy and very Thanksgivingy. (new word) :)
