The next time I visit NYC I am absolutely, positively dropping by Center44. Until then, I will gaze longingly at their website and dream of what could be. ;) I am in love with the floor of this display from English Looking Glass. I recently begged my husband to let me paint the wood floors in our living room a nice bold black. He flatly said no, no and no. But now I'm thinking this would be way better any way. I wonder if I should bother asking...

What I would do...
I am thoroughly enjoying the responses on Today's Inspiration Post. I appreciate you stepping forward and making comments. That really makes my day. Now, as to what I would do, ss Sheila said, the trim elements in the room make a bold geometric statement, which I love, but for me makes the art all wrong. Too much geometry going on.
There are two directions I could go with this room. The first is fun and out there, but definitely something I would do. I would hang "Illuminous Garden" by Natasha Wescoat for its whimsy and the great splash of gold that I feel this room needs to warm it up a bit. With this picture in place I could live with the purple rug.
For the more conservative mindset, I would choose "Contemporary Stripes I" but hang it upside down, as shown here. I have a compulsion to see stripes grounded at the bottom with a darker hue, otherwise it feels like its floating and not finished to me. I would also swap out the purple rug for a more conservative and warm chocolate brown.
Here are some really bad photoshops to show you how each would change the mood of the room.
And that's what I would do. Feel free to share images, art, or whatever your vision would be to make this room perfect. I'd love to see it.

Inspiration for Today + Your Point of View
The inspiration today is this room designed by the sisters Carillo for Casa Decor '06. I love the color of the walls and how everything, including the trim and ceiling, are painted. The brown beams are delightful and the light fixture couldn't be more perfect. The white bed sets the room off with just the right amount of color for accent. The only thing I think I would change would be the rug and the art on the wall. If it were you, what color rug would be your choice? Am I wrong about the purple? And what are your thoughts on the art? Don't be shy. Please share. Thanks. :)

Amelia Aran
Out of Madrid, Amelia Aran's designs for the little ones are a fresh minimal perspective. I love the simple exaggerated drawer pulls on her furniture. Enjoy!

These Boots Weren't Made for Walking...
I love the art of the unexpected, especially when it's as beautiful as this. The vase is the lovely porcelain Qubus boot by Maxim Velcovsky. It can be purchased at the A + R Store for $200.00, but if this is too pricey, I can think of several ways to DIY this project for a one time use (i.e. one used rubber boot and a can of glossy white spray). I think it would be well worth the effort for the effect it will create. Definitely something for your guests to talk about and enjoy as well. :)

My Painting Whenever I Have Time Series...
I wanted to do a pop series that focused on pattern with a bit of whimsy. These are sort of like pictionary meets wallpaper. Horse Radish is 8 x 10 and currently up for grabs on etsy for $35.00.

Not usually my style
I'm not a fan of realism. That's what a camera's for, in my opinion. But the silhouette of the moose is just enough of a hint of abstraction to make me a fan of this original watercolor by etsy seller Paintingcoyote36. Measuring 8 x 10 inches and painted on 140lb. Fabriano Uno watercolor paper, this piece also includes a 14 x 18" mat, a standard size, with an acid-free white outer mat and black inner mat. Ready to frame at $64.99! Enjoy!

Bling Bling in the Bathroom
These mosaic tiles by Bisazza are out of this world. Their site is in flash (my arch nemesis) so you'll have to trust me when I say I can't even begin to describe some of the images they have on their site. Tiles in every pattern imaginable. Really, eye candy at its best. Enjoy! (images below via Elle Deco and Bisazza and in case you're wondering, the vanity console and mirror are by Marcel Wonders)

Never say never...
I always said I'd never hang a nude in my home, but this piece by etsy seller Sagittarius Gallery has me reconsidering. It's tastefully done and I pretty much love everything about it. It's a 10" x 10" print reproduction of an original oil priced at $22.00. If you prefer an original, she has several others to offer in her shop along with the original "Fragrant" pictured below. An 8" x 10" piece painted on gallery wrapped canvas, this piece is ready to hang at $40.00. Enjoy
