Not Your Mother's Pewter...
Tim Parsons created these fantastic pewter pieces for A.R. Wentworth . It's a totally new twist on a very traditional material, one I hope to see much more of in the future.

Romo, Oh Romo, Wherefore Art Thou Romo?
What's in a name? Alot. Romo fabrics are some of my all time favorites and if you like Romo too, then do I have a source for you. There's an Ebay store known as Designer Cushions that sells beautiful pillow covers made out of gorgeous Romo fabrics. They do ship to the U.S. and you can check them out here. Enjoy!

One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure...
I stumbled across the works of Boris Bally by sheer accident and have become an instant fan. Boris takes recycled signage and transforms them into "urban" expressions of art in the form of furniture, jewelry and accessories. Check it out and be inspired.

If you've got the money, they're worth the dime...
Vintage goods at Retro Modern Design from Stig Lindberg, Sylvia Leuchowius, Paul Hoff Gustavsberg, and Pentti Sarpaneva, just to name a few. They ship to the U.S. AND if it makes you feel any better, $1.00 is equal to 7 Swedish Krona. Enjoy!

Determined!
Last week when I came across these tea towels I was determined to know who made them. I was partly successful. The candy design is by a Swedish Designer, Lotta Glave, for Klippan. I fell in love with all her creations and thought I would share some with you. The "candy" apron, above, can be purchased here, along with all the other great items you see. Check it out and enjoy!

Gotta Light?
I came across these fascinating matchboxes while doing some googling this weekend. They're from a boutique out of Sweden called Designista. I enjoy seeing design on even the smallest of items. I was then inspired to check and see what sort of matchbox offerings we had here in the U.S. These are the best I could find.
Imooi has a nice contemporary selection.
Areo Home has a nice
selection for just about every taste.

Since it's that time of year...

when a good cup of hot tea is warming to the mind, body and soul, I thought I would share these finds from Todd & Holland Tea Merchants. Not only do they sell flavorful teas, but they also have these wonderful accessory pieces: the Spinn Mugs from Design House Stockholm; the Sollenberg Teabowls with the cute little birds created by Lisa Sollenberg; the block printed Sardine Tea Towel; and last, but not least, this handcrafted Goyer Bonneau Teapot.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy a cup of hot tea.

Wis Design of Sweden...Girl Power

From the minds of three women, Anna Irinarchos, Lisa Widen and Johanna Strand, comes Wis Design. Not only are their designs clever and functional, but also attractive.
First up is a silicone rubber tablecloth able to withstand heats of up to 200 C.
Next up is a graphic design prepared for Volvo.
Third is a fashionable waste bag holder for your little dog's droppings. It easily clasps on to your pants or purse, making it easy to carry and inconspicuous all at the same time.
Fourth up is the crown, a contemporary serving dish.
And last, but not least, is the Magnet. A magnetic pendant that allows you to attach whatever you wish, as long as it's metal.
These ladies are fantastic. I can't wait to see what they come up with next. To see more of their works please click on the links provided. Enjoy!
