Something Old Something New

I was doing some research on Bartley Johnstone due to her large collection of landscape paintings and came across this image on Queenie Clutter-Free of her kitchen. I love how she displays her collection of vintage pottery in a very modern IKEA cabinet. And, as Queenie says, "the shelves form a grid to visually corral pieces, making them appear highly organized. Had they been open shelves without dividers the look would be much less organized." A great visual for inspiration on arranging your collections. Enjoy!

Corine, if you click over to Queenie's blog and click on the photo to look at the enlarged photo it's even more impressive.

I just love the whole room. Chairs, table, collection IKEA cabinet ( I am buying a bunch of these for my office) Everything!

This is a great idea, thanks for showing that. IKEA makes that exact piece with a cutout for a tv in the center, which I have in my apartment in the bedroom. What we did was position it above the floor about 15" or so, so it looks like it's floating, which is another great look. Good idea!

Hey Jules! I really like this, on several levels -- I like that her collections are compartmentalized and orderly and how in each section of the grid she composes a little vignette, a "still life" with her items. I like the vibrancy, too. As usual, you share great "stuff". :)

Oh my goodness, I love this! I have a lot of handmade bowls and dishes and it seems a shame to shut them away in cupboards all day...

This idea is great. I really love the expedit, and enjoy seeing it used in different ways. This is great. I'm off to start a blue bowl collection now too :)
