Casapinka is having difficulty deciding how to decorate her children's room. The problem? It's one room that will house a boy and a girl. There must be a balance of the sexes. And let's not forget that the girl must have pink. My suggestion for Pink, one among many, is to go white with the walls and let each child's bed speak for their own space and sex, sort of like two separate spaces within one open room. I would connect them together by mirroring the patterns while separating them with colors that contrast but blend...and the girl gets pink.
Below are two fabric groupings, one for a girl and one for a boy. I would do the duvets from the dots. This might lean a wee bit on the girly side, but since they're quite young I think it can easily be pulled off. I would do the accessories (pillows, etc.) with a mix and match from the rest with the color that ties them both together being the lime green. This is just a suggestion and maybe it will help Pink in one way or another. Enjoy. :)

For Pink...

Julie! That's so interesting because "a spot" (Aussie speak for polka dots) was one thing Anna suggested for Junior and she said the same thing you did - maybe a little bit feminine but his agegroup won't care. This is a great idea! Oh, when she said white beds she meant the wood part being white. You are such a sweetheart for doing this - and "someone" would be sooooooo happy to have pink. Also, if they got sick of them in a few years it would be easy to whip up something new.
Ha! Well then Anna and I are on exactly the same page. :) I was happy to try and help. I hope you figure it out and it all comes together. Can't wait to see what you do. :)
What a great scheme. Well done.
Thanks Lady Di. :)
I love those fabrics! Could you tell me who makes them?
Hi Courtney. The prints (paisley, stripe and dots) are by P Kaufmann in the Gypsy Collection. :)
Great- thanks!
