Wow, nostalgia! I totally grew up with these salt/pepper shakers!! I don't remember the extra band of stainless on the bottom, but who knows?? I lived with these for years, thanks for the memory!
Wow. What a memory. I have no idea what sort of salt and pepper shakers we had now that I think of it. Either they were unremarkable or I never used the S & P. :)
